Over the past several years, organizations across sectors have begun to rethink how they approach compliance, governance, and operational risk. Rather than reacting to regulatory enforcement after the fact, many companies are choosing to voluntarily adopt internationally recognized ISO standards to structure internal processes and demonstrate accountability. This trend is particularly visible in the areas of data protection and artificial intelligence, where regulatory expectations are evolving rapidly and enforcement risk is increasing.
ISO/IEC 27001, the long-standing global standard for information security and data protection, and ISO/IEC 42001, the newer management-system standard for artificial intelligence, are increasingly being adopted as corporate governance frameworks, rather than mere certifications.
